Batik is a cloth that traditionally is produced by manually applying a wax design to the fabric, then the fabric is dipped in dye- the wax is then removed and a beautiful intricate design is left behind.
Batiked cloths are still used today in ceremonies ranging from welcoming a new baby into the world or when people gather at the beach to throw their problems into the sea.
