Patchwork Tie-Strap Bucket Bag


This patchwork bucket bag is patched together with recycled batiked ceremonial clothes, Has a unique Chinese coin 'button' loop closure, zipper and front zip pocket.

Batik is a cloth that traditionally is produced by manually applying a wax design to the fabric, then the fabric is dipped in dye- the wax is then removed and a beautiful intricate design is left behind.

Batiked cloths are still used today in ceremonies ranging from welcoming a new baby into the world or when people gather at the beach to throw their problems into the sea.

No to fabrics are alike- so it really is a unique piece of artwork. The colors on each bag will vary depending on the patches used.
